So as I was working on my latest project, I became sleepless, tired, increasingly unpatient and worse of all - not getting results. 10 hours into development and learning and no progress. I took a step back and decided to be a bit "not too complicated" and think of the logic in a "simplified" form. In an hour i was able to get results that I wish i had got 15 hours back and got some sleep.
I came to my client place and spoke to my new project manager and he said "KISS". I was taken back because i did not understand what he was saying.
He repeated - "KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID - KISS".
Moral of this post: I am very tired and i cannot code, thus creating an atmosphere of lethargicness {not sure if there is such a word but its there now} and laziness - hopefully this translates into simplicity.
Keep it simple my fellow coders. We aint building the next generation machine to help in heart transplants, just a simple web application that makes the business managers lazy. :)
eFORCE is like my logical wife - I cant seem to live with it and for sure cant live without it.
Alright after reading this you are probably wondering who I am. Moi is TK a.k.a Thanesh Kumar Sadachcharan. I am a CMS Consultant with eForce and have been for the past 1 1/2 years. Joined as a contractor initially in April 2005, and then well someone decided that it would be better to get me in full time and voila - joined full time in August 2005. From April to now - it has been a joy ride indeed - meeting lots of new people, making friends, visiting countries and cities, havivng fun and oh yeah of course learning some new technolgies and doing some work :).
eForce is probably one of the most flexible organizations I have come across. Dont take my word for it but definetly ask around and see how others have found the bureaucratic life at other organizations. Most of the time all eForce cares about is - Are you willing to learn because we have so many technolgies to analyze and dissec on, and can you do your work on time? You can work from Java to .NET, meet some of the brightest minds in the IT field and in between have a good conversation or constructive argument with a chilled beer.
From Client Projects to Internal projects most of the Project Managers and Technical Directors ensure that idle minds like myself are kept consistently and constantly ticked so that we STAY AHEAD of our peers in other organizations. This could include a little conversation in the kitchen to a fully fledged meeting with projectors lighting up the interior and someone going crazy over the whiteboard with diagrams and not really great imitations of Leonardo Da Vinci's work.
At eForce you will meet a variety of people from diversified backgrounds. You have the intellectuals, the talkers, the pacifiers and the "do nothing" folks like moi.
Anyways, since this was my first blog on the official eforce blog, I thought I will start off with a small introduction about my organization. In the future, hopefully I along with some of my colleagues will be able to add content here that ends up being of value to you [whoever you are] and well hopefully gets your mind to tick.
Thats eForce - We Innovate, We Execute and Internally We Tick the Minds :)
P.S. No, I am not married yet :) And if you want to learn about what i think about when working and not working ...usually not working most of the time - here is my blog - http://thaneshk.blogspot.com
